Kelly’s First Chuppah

We first met Stephanie and Kiva at the Temple's Wedding Show in November of 2014. The couple attended the show to select vendors, including a florist for their upcoming nuptials on October 10th 2015. Stephanie and Kiva were also searching for someone who could provide them with a Chuppah, a beautiful necessity for their Jewish ceremony.

After meeting with the couple and discussing their wedding wishes, I offered to build them a Chuppah. Together we concluded that we would make the Chuppah from cedar, grapevine, moss and fresh flowers. The couple especially like the idea of using outdoor elements to compliment the outdoor beauty of Temple’s.

The Assembly of Our Chuppah

• To start, we cut cedar posts in 7 foot lengths from our family property, 10 min South West of Perth.
• After cutting the posts, they were screwed together in groups of three and wrapped in grapevine.
• The crossers were single cedar posts also wrapped in grapevine.
• Planks were used on the bottom of the Chuppah for extra stability
and hidden with grapevine and moss.
• The top was made of lovely vintage lace, tacked to stay in place.
• Finally, fresh daisies, alstromeria, babies breath, limonium, and
preserved moss were placed between the vines for an added
splash of colour.

The finished Chuppah provided the perfect backdrop for Stephanie and Kiva as they exchanged their vows. The completion of this project was a first for me and I was extremely pleased to be able to add this special touch to what was a wonderful wedding.

"Absolutely perfect chuppah! Thank you for bringing our vision to life, you are a true artist!"
- Stephanie

Vivid Romantic – Marie-Josee & Paul

A82J1714

Setting: Stonefield’s, Carleton Place September 20, 2013
Description: Vivid Romantic
The sun peeks over the roof of an old stone farmhouse nestled in amongst lush country gardens, surrounded by age old log cabins and rustic barns- all of which is framed by acres upon acres of rolling farmland. On this warm September day, Marie-Josee & Paul have travelled from Ottawa with their closest family and friends to exchange heartfelt “I Do’s” outside on the historic steps of this picturesque venue. Yearning for a unique romantic experience, unexpected combinations of colourful blooms and petals have been chosen to adorn antique wine barrels and to highlight the grassy aisle and chairs. These vibrant floral designs carry the theme throughout the poolside cocktail hour and into the reception space which is set to take place under a magnificent white tent. As the sun sets, Marie-Josee and Paul’s happily ever after is added to the rich pages of Stonefield’s history and another wedding vision is made reality by our creative team at Kelly’s.

Rustic Luxe – Ainsley & Chris

Setting: Asbury Freemethodist Church, Best Western Plus Parkside Inn & Spa, Timber Run, Perth, January 1, 2015
Description: Rustic Luxe

It's a crisp New Year's Day and the quiet snow-swept streets of downtown heritage Perth await the celebration of Ainsley and Chris's new life together. It all begins with a nostalgic ceremony in the Free Methodist Church where Ainsley's mother grew up; a community in which both Bride and Groom are active members. The modest surroundings of the church have been embellished with glamourous floral designs in classic shades of cream and blush flowers. Birch bark and poplar branches add a rustic element. Once vows are exchanged, the party starts with some cocktails at the Best Western Plus Perth Parkside Inn and Spa. Here, luxe metallic-toned balloons paired with cream and blush cruiser table arrangements showcase the gorgeous event space. The final stop on the itinerary is the majestic Timber Run Golf Course; a breathtaking log structure that Ainsley and Chris are mad about, now dressed to the nines with elaborate mercury glass vases filled with fresh hydrangea and blush roses. Soft cream fabric drapes frame the entrance held back by romantic floral tiebacks.

It's a sight to be seen as the bride and groom make their first entrance as newlyweds, with Ainsley's stunning bouquet held high for all to see. This is the wedding's statement piece, an all rose bouquet complete with ivory pearls to achieve the luxe feel of the entire wedding vision. The talented duo of Luke & Lee Photography don't miss a beat, capturing precious moments in time for Ainsley and Chris to enjoy for years to come. Wedding planner Becky looks around at everyone enjoying what's left of this special night and feels honoured to be part of such a beautiful day

Timeless Elegant – Scott & Brooke

Timeless Elegant – Scott & Brooke
Setting: Code’s Mill, Perth  November 8th, 2014

The day has finally arrived and the hours of dreaming and meticulous planning have come to fruition. Today is the day that Scott marries Brooke. Preparation for this special day began a world away in Dubai, where Brooke lived and worked as a flight attendant. In her spare time, she drew inspiration from her travels to countries in Europe, where she fell in love with the classic elegance and old-world charm all around her. Upon her return to Ottawa, Brooke discovered the embodiment of her wedding vision- a stunning Tara Keely Ivory shantung gown with lace cap sleeves and deep V-back. Today, as Brooke walks down the aisle of St Jean the Baptiste Church with her classic all white and ivory bouquet, she is a modern day Grace Kelly. The newlyweds exchange vows and invite their guests to the historic Code’s Mill building, where vintage furniture and carefully selected antique decor enhance the heritage feel and offset the classic ivory and white floral centrepieces and standout mantle decor. Ivory satin ribbons hang from the ceiling, holding the bridesmaid bouquets overhead to create a unique and romantic vignette to feature the newlyweds.  Everything about Scott and Brooke’s day serves as a reminder that true love is timeless.
